Some of these will appear to be very dated - as indeed they are! However, we have taken the decision to leave these in, rather than omit them. In most cases they will show how public opinion and especially church teaching has been changed, sadly, this is usually for the worst! However, they certainly indicate that we are now living in the "Last Days" before the imminent Rapture of the Church, for those true followers of Jesus Christ. Please read 2 Timothy 3. 1-9. I have some old pewter measures. If you look around the rim of these you will see an assay mark indicating the guaranteed amount of the volume the measure held. And this is guaranteed by Royal Authority. Similarly if you look at the old brass weights used in shops and markets they too have been assayed and marked. It also applied to measuring rods and tapes. All marked by the officer of the Crown by Royal authority. There are still officers who go round checking scales and measures all over the country to ensure that no one is being sold short by the sellers of the various products. Why is this elaborate and costly system in place.
