| For the average Christian it would appear that the resurrection of Jesus makes little difference to their daily life and lifestyle. Yet this fact according to the apostle Paul is the central theme of our faith and hope.

| This old poem by Matilda C. Edwards, published around 1870 in the quaint meaningful language of her day, sadly also depicts the present state of many churches. Although our Saviour said of His followers “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world,” the average Christian is hardly any different from the world about him. He watches the same films, listens to the same music and pursues the same self centred ambitions in life. This stands is direct opposition to Scripture that states, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” (2 Co. 6:17)
